This week sees some of the team heading to Harrogate to attend The Charity Retail Association conference.

We are excited to announce the introduction of a stand-alone card machine for charity retailers which is enabled to access The Charity Shop Gift Card scheme.

This will allow charities without a “terminal integrated epos” to join the CRA-backed scheme, whilst also enabling the Gift Card to be sold and redeemed at pop-ups, and sales of gift cards at events.

CEO Richard Bradley said “We are delighted to find a solution so that all charities can participate in The Charity Shop Gift Card scheme, whilst also providing the opportunity to upgrade existing card machines and review pricing for merchant services. The combination of the two will help drive additional revenue into the charity retail sector and reduce costs for accepting card payments at a time where we’re seeing price increases across all sectors.”

Richard’s advice is to speak with acceptcards® if you are in the process of upgrading existing card machines, extending contracts or taking additional machines with an existing or new merchant services provider.

The acceptcards® team will also be showcasing several additional payment solutions at the Charity Retail Conference, 28-29 June, including the use of near-field technology (NFT) on mobile phones for donations and fundraising. NFT has several benefits over QR codes, such as:

  • Faster and more secure payments and donations
  • Making online donations easy
  • Increased donor engagement
  • Improved data analytics

All charities attending the Charity Retail Conference, will be able to stop by the acceptcards® stand (No51) to chat with them and learn more about how their services help charities do more.
