Here at acceptcards® we always put the customer at the centre of everything we do, and this has been our focus during the COVID19 Lockdown. Back in March, we were quickly assisting businesses to adapt the way they took card payments mainly with Virtual Terminals, Ecommerce and Pay As You Go solutions.

But now as the UK looks to come out of lockdown we have changed focus to ensure we are here to help businesses in the hospitality sector who are being hardest hit and looking like the last to come out of restrictions. The need for restaurants, pubs, cafes and takeaways to reopen quickly and safely as soon as government legislation allows could be the difference of their survival.

We are all uncertain of what the new normal will be when reopening, we do know that social distancing rules will continue along with customers concerns to go outside and even use chip and pin devices never mind using cash will all have an impact.

This has driven us to develop our CleanClicks campaign that will help the struggling sector re-open its doors safely and successfully.

Our self-ordering solution similar to that used by large organisations such as JD Wetherspoons and McDonald’s will be perfect for smaller restaurants, cafes, takeaways and pubs and won’t cost the earth.

Our CEO Richard Bradley, knows only too well how devastating the ongoing effect of lockdown could be on the hospitality sector as he is a co-owner of a village pub. When he started to look to offer a take-away service from the pub during lockdown and what he would need to be able to open safely when restrictions allowed, he was alarmed to learn the high costs this kind of technology would be on his closed business, this weighed heavily on Richard’s mind.

He knew that he was uniquely placed to find a solution, so he set about bringing together the right people to make this happen. It’s taken some work, but the great news is that we have been able to create a bespoke, safe, social distancing online ordering and payments solution that would mean a  £20  takeaway order that would cost up to £4 (20%) to process with JustEat, would cost just 63p with CleanClicks. Most importantly we’ve been able to adapt this app to offer order & pay at table options when he reopens The Green Man pub in Scamblesby near Louth. This will be the difference between his pub and many other pubs, restaurants or cafes surviving lockdown or never opening again.

Using the CleanClicks online link, customers can book a table, choose from menus and, within a few clicks, order and pay for their food and drinks from their phone. Customers who drop in unannounced can be seated at a safe social distance from other diners when they arrive at a restaurant or cafe and then use the App to safely order their food and pay, all from their table, thus reducing the interactions needed with serving staff.

We believe that when people see pubs, restaurants or cafés taking precautions to keep them safe, they will be more inclined to choose to visit. We are really proud that we’ve been able to bring this technology to market, we firmly believe that it enables the hospitality sector to have a trusting, closer relationship with their customers in these most unprecedented of times.
